Saving On Bills

Alas, I am still trying to find ways to cut back on our bills. I looked into our car insurance at raising the deductible for both collision and comprehensive. If I raised both up to $1000 on both of our cars it would only end up saving us $11.83 a month. That didn't really seem worth it to me. Right now at this point in our lives since we're paying off c.c's it would be easier for me to come out $11.83 a month rather than coming up with a lump sum of $1000 for a deductible. I don't think I'll be changing that. Once DH's last speeding ticket hits 3 yrs in Sept. we're gonna get a quote from Farm Bureau and see if it would be lower since we just switched our homeowner's insurance and it was a significant savings....hopefully the car insurance will be too.

I still cannot decide about changing the internet. DSL would save us $12.95 a month but it is significantly slower than the cable plus it would be $40 to hook it up. However, we would be getting 2 services (telephone and internet). Currently we don't have home phone, we have cells. So I just don't know.

Have you looked in to whether you can get a discount on your insurance for taking a defensive driving course?

And, you might get a discount if you have both your home owner's and auto with one company. Ours gives a discount for multiple policies with them.

We have DSL and find it is as fast as the cable internet my parents have. We have verizon, and it is $18 a month. Good luck!
